With firm bits of chewy carrot and creamy morsels of not-too-sweet frosting, the carrot cake is a winner. The traditional nutmeg, cinnamon and clove are not subtle — just right in my opinion. Overall, the texture and flavor are better than yesterday’s banana bread. A solid entry in the Clif stable — if you like carrot cake.
