This is a fancy and expensive 8GB drive with hardware encryption that was given to me years ago. It requires a proprietary Windows app to decrypt the contents, and can ostensibly be run over by a truck while preserving the contents. Retail is over $200.

As an alternative, TrueCrypt is solid multi-platform encryption software with plenty of features and current updates. If you need to encrypt a USB drive, it’s a more economical solution, but Kingston’s setup is easy and functional as long as you stick to Windows.
