This seems like a fairly good balance of fat, carbs, protein and fiber. The primary ingredient in Clif bars is organic brown rice syrup, which is brown rice fermented into sugar. It has a lower glycemic index than straight-up table sugar. I use Clif bars as a convenient breakfast substitute, or a quick snack for a long hike or a long drive. The portability and relatively long shelf life make them ideal snacks for the car or backpack to stave off emergency hangriness.
